Project Engineer (Contract #10000469)

Location: Kincardine/Saugeen Shores



 

MEE Consulting Inc. is seeking Project Engineer’s. These positions are temporary/contract opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Fulfill the role of Project Engineer in support of the Project Manager in scoping, planning and implementing projects within the defined project work program
  • Assigned projects will be mechanical, civil, electrical and/or I&C engineering in nature
  • Foster a safety culture within each project team.  Perform work activities with due regard for safety, cost and the environment
  • Support the Project Manager in the use of Project management principles to plan, develop, execute, control and report on all aspects of assigned projects
  • Support the Project Manager in the initiation and scope development of new projects including all activities associated with obtaining funding approvals
  • Perform the roles of Modification Team Leader and Field Team Leader per Engineering Change Control (ECC) procedures for Preliminary Engineering, Detailed Design, Installation, Commissioning and Close-out of a Permanent Modification
  • Ensure Constructability, Operability, Maintainability, Safety, (COMS) reviews and completed as required
  • Initiate and coordinate the modification In-Service process and project closeout activities
  • Lead, monitor and support field progress of installation and commissioning activities
  • Support the Project Manager in ensuring that key contributors to the project (Plant Design Engineering, Performance Engineering, Modifications, Operations, Material Management, Nuclear Safety, other) fulfill their committed obligations on the project in a quality and timely manner
  • Ensure readiness for installation and commissioning consistent with Work Management processes
  • Make decisions and resolve conflicts as required to assure the success of the project and raise unresolved decisions and problems to line management for timely action
  • Preparation of installation and commissioning work documentation (Work Coordination Plan, Operating Memos, etc) and detailed electrical instrumentation and control and/or mechanical commissioning procedures consistent with ECC procedures and other applicable Codes and Standards
  • Provide engineering technical support to the project team during all phases of the project, problem-solve issues and make decisions that are technical in nature
  • Perform External Contract Management roles as required

Education:

Body Collision Technician - Autobody Technician Permanent Positions

MEE Consulting Inc. is seeking the following:
Position: Body Collision Technician - Autobody Technician
Location: Milton, ON (401 & James Snow Parkway)

Overview:
We are hiring an enthusiastic and motivated automotive Body & Collision Repair Technician to join our growing team. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing high quality automotive body repairs on transit buses and highway coaches.

Position Duties:
  • Repair transit buses & highway coach bodies by removing, attaching, and aligning parts directly and with the use of specialized equipment.
  • Repair dents, fill and seal depressions.
  • Hammer, shape, shrink, expand, fill, grind, sand, smooth, and featheredge various surfaces.

Technical Qualifications:
  • Related technician experience in automotive body collision work and repair.
  • Bus or heavy equipment technician work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with all automotive plastics, putties, fillers, hardeners, metals and equipment.
  • Knowledge of composite automotive materials.
  • Ability to analyze vehicle / equipment problems and provide expertise in collision repairs.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and measuring equipment.


Military to Civilian Transition:

MEE Consulting Inc. is seeking Project Manager’s. This position is a temporary/contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages an Integrated Project Team (IPT) responsible for successfully delivering projects.
  • Negotiates with and integrates all functions (i.e., planning, design, engineering, construction, contracting, procurement etc.), consistent with the customer needs and commitments in support of assigned projects into a comprehensive Project Management Plan.
  • Planning and Staff Leadership.
  • Manages cradle-to-grave (initiation to close-out) responsibilities for projects assigned (Program Management)
  • Acts as portfolio manager in tracking all milestones (irrespective of which function performs the function) across the cradle to grave process
  • Manages and reports on project milestones
  • Is responsible for cost and schedule progress and reporting for projects assigned
  • Is responsible for remedial actions in correcting cost and schedule project deficiencies
  • May act as Contract Manager
  • Ensure that their projects are executed in the field in accordance with applicable procedures for nuclear, conventional, personnel and environmental safety and ensure compliance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Highly developed skills in the following: project management, leadership; staff development; stakeholder management; communication written and oral; analytical and problem solving; decision making; interpersonal; organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage project milestones and budgets from development through closeout measuring performance, and take necessary corrective actions to maintain the agreed upon schedules and costs.
  • Detailed plant system knowledge of CANDU reactor designs and more specifically Nuclear systems
  • Previous EPC experience within a CANDU reactor
  • Experience in planning and coordinating reactor vault activities
  • Business acumen in capital projects management planning and estimating
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including proven ability to adapt to a highly technical project environment.
  • Ability to manage key stakeholder interests while at the same time managing conflicting priorities and business interests.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting or Computer Science is preferred.
  • PMI or PMP certification considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years Project Management and Strategic Planning experience in a highly technical and regulated environment.

Position: Mechanic (310J or 310T)
Location: Milton, ON (401 & James Snow Parkway)

Overview:
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and carrying out any mechanical repairs for mechanical issues and problems discovered on transit buses and coaches. This includes repairs and maintenance activities, inspection of equipment, mechanical assessments and safety work.

Position Duties:
  • Detect, troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect mechanical irregularities, faults and malfunctions.
  • Determine extent of repair on equipment required.
  • Adjust, repair or replace equipment or defective mechanical machinery parts.
  • Test repair equipment for proper performance and safety.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.

Technical Qualifications:
  • 310J or 310T Required - Valid Ontario Government mechanic certificate of qualification and a valid license as a Trailer Mechanic, Truck and Coach Technician and/or Automotive Service Technician.
  • Minimum three (3) years related practical experience as a mechanic or technician.
  • Knowledge of relevant government legislation, government health and safety act and standards for appropriate equipment maintenance procedures and legislated certifications. Ability to compile reports, documentation and forms. 
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance practices and processes. Ability to analyze vehicle/equipment problems and provide expertise in repairs and maintenance, including the use of electronic/diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to carry out repair and service schedules, mandatory inspections and certifications as a mechanic.

MEE Consulting Inc. is currently seeking qualified applicants for on contract and permanent employment for AME (Maintenance, Structures, and Avionics) positions in St. John’s, NL.  

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an AME;
  • Must have a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Course completed or have equivalent experience through a program such as the International Correspondence School;
  • Experience on Dash 8 aircraft and on ATR-42 aircraft would be considered an asset;
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills;
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
  • Trouble shooting skills;
  • Must be able to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check prior to employment.
